Rejection

When your heart feels heavy.

When the emails keep stacking up, when you read them over and over, willing the words to be different, pressing your fingers into your eyes and begging for the words to somehow magically flip around on the screen and change.

When you’ve pushed your heart into your stories, when you don’t just see your words but tiny shards of yourself on the page.

When you know it’s not personal but it feels personal anyway.

When doubt creeps in, sinks into your skin, makes your body feel bruised, achy and tired.

When you want to give up but know that you won’t.

Well, I don’t have any advice. Just this quote from Samuel Beckett.

“Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better”
