The Slow Canoe – Audio Project 2020
From March, shortly after the pandemic started, through to June of 2020, 27 authors split into three threads of nine and wrote short pieces capturing the out-of-timeness of the first months of the covid pandemic. I was lucky enough to take part in this, thanks to the wonderful Oliver Driscoll. Each writer responded to the work in the thread immediately prior to their own, so we feel the drift of thought and preoccupation as the world changed gradually or quickly or, perhaps, somehow, hardly at all.
Between Melbourne's first and second lockdowns, the pieces were read and recorded by Allison Browning and Angus Keech.
You can listen to the pieces here and my short piece can be heard in thread 3.
